Domestic Bliss Photography is psyched to announce that we will be setting up our portrait studio at Portland’s Vampire’s Masquerade Ball, March 27th, 2010 at The Melody Ballroom. This event should not be missed.

The Vampire’s Ball PDX Website states “The 8th Annual Vampire’s Masquerade Ball is a night of gothic elegance and decadence highly anticipated each year in the city of roses. It’s an evening where nearly 800 guests from the various gothic/industrial communities from around the nation gather in the Melody Ballroom amongst crystal chandeliers and Edwardian cornices to socialize and dance the night away, but dancing is only one of the many entertainments the VMB offers. The venue is divided between two floors with captivating live performances and local DJ’s spinning gothic/industrial in the grand ballroom; while in the lower ballroom nearly 30 regional vendors will be selling their wares. Additionally a lavish, professionally catered buffet of savory cheeses, meats, and baked goods awaits, as well as a delectable dessert selection and fountains of chocolate.”

The images from our Halloween Open House Photoshoot are now online over at our Domestic Bliss Photography website.  We had a great day visiting with old friends and new while snapping a few frames of all the excellent costumes.  Too much fun.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by to hang out for a bit, we love our friends.

We have some good news.  The Portraits of Love program that we are participating in has been extended through the month of November.  We have been incredibly busy with free portrait sittings of military families for the past month and now have time to schedule more families.  The goal is to send 10,000 portraits of military families to their loved ones serving overseas for the holidays.  Meeting these families has left us humbled and speechless.  The sacrifices they are making every day are unimaginable and they deserve everyone’s support.  A big thank you to both FOX12 News http://www.kptv.com/video/21205174/index.html and KGW News Portland for helping us get the word out about this important program.

We know that a family photograph means so much to a soldier, especially during the holiday season. That’s why the Portraits of Love Project was born.

A network of photographers have agreed to donate their time during the month of September (*Domestic Bliss Photography has extended our participation through October 25th) to take a free portrait of families whose loved ones will be serving overseas this holiday season. Photos will be uploaded to a website where you can have your photo sent directly to your soldier for free! It’s our way of saying thank you to the brave men and women who defend our country.
